Jatoba is one of the more popular of the exotic hardwoods used for flooring. 
The colour can vary widely from red/brown to a rich orange or strong red. 
The colour of a Jatoba wood floor will change dramatically within 
the first six to twelve months, so bear this in mind when selecting.
 However, Jatoba is also one of the strongest woods available 
and is incredibly resistant to dents and scuffs, compared to other 
hardwoods. Like Ipe, it is a difficult wood to work with, although 
an experienced company will know this and bear it in mind when charging for fitting.
